Collection of homilies (type "Zlatoust"), translated from Greek and intended for use in church on every Sunday over the year. The texts, mainly by St. John Chrysostom, are supplemented with texts by other church fathers, e.g. St. Isidore of Pelusium, St. Cyril, Patriarch of Alexandria, and St. Anastasius Sinaita. All homilies and introductory words (skazanija), with a few exceptions, are numbered and arranged according to the liturgical cycle following Pascha, Pentecost, "Vazdvizhenije" (Elevation of the Holy Cross, i.e. the New Year), the Sundays of Preparation (preceding in Lent) and the Lenten period including Palm Sunday, as well as a few topical homilies at the end.
